Church Pastor
Pastor Irwin began his ministry at American Reformed Church in 1995. He grew up in Hull, IA, and married his wife, Helen, in July 1971. He was first ordained as a RCA pastor in June 1976. His first assignment was for two churches in North Dakota: North Marion Reformed Church and 1st Reformed Church of Litchville. After 11 years, he accepted a call to Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo, MN. He served in Montevideo for over 7 years before coming to Worthington. Pastor Irwin enjoys ministering to all people with care and compassion and loves preaching the Word. He and Helen have three children: Deb, Mike, and Sheri. They enjoy visiting their grandchildren, and Pastor Irwin is an avid woodworker.

Youth/Outreach Director
Maggie Gaudian started her work as the Youth/Outreach Director at ARC in May of 2002. Maggie grew up in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area of Iowa. She was heavily involved at her former church (Grace Reformed in Waterloo) with leading the youth group, singing in the praise band, and participating in a wide variety of activities. She also was a student leader for the Navigators college ministry at the University of Northern Iowa. Maggie graduated from UNI with a General Communications major and a Leadership Studies minor. Maggie enjoys encouraging others to passionately seek Jesus. Maggie and her husband, Matt, were married in January 2003 and were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Audrey, in November 2007.

Church Secretary
Cory Wiertzema was hired as our church secretary in February 2009 after 20 years of service with District 518. She grew up in Sibley, Iowa and attended Trinity Reformed Church. She married Gordie, long time member of American Reformed, in June of 1983, and Cory joined our congregation within a year after their marriage. They have two daughters: Sara and Jordan. Cory enjoys reading and crafting in her free time. She appreciates the people of ARC and loves working at "her" church with a variety of tasks like preparing the bulletin, newsletter, and mailings, and handling the church finances.

Church Custodians
Ruth and Vern Verbrugge have been the church custodians for over 20 years. Ruth is originally from Steen, MN, and Vern grew up in Edgerton, MN. They were married in June 1967. They have two children: Evan and Lisa. Before working at ARC, Ruth worked at a cafe keeping the place clean. Vern recently retired from Swift and helps Ruth as much as he can at the church. Ruth enjoys talking with church members and brightening their day. Ruth likes to travel, visit her grandchildren, cook, and bake. Vern is active in the American Legion.
